There is not just one way how to breed phasmids successfully. Breeding conditions
that prove to be of value for one breeder might not lead down the road of success
for another breeder. There is a very complex interplay of different microclimatic factors
at work when breeding phasmids, which vary greatly from breeder to breeder. And
this interplay is not really understood - even by experienced breeders.

some important microclimatic factors are:

·   intensity of light, duration of lightening
·   humidity
·   air movement and air exchange in the breeding room itself
·   ventilation of the breeding cages
·   temperature profile during the day and the year
·   materials the cages are made of
·   cleanliness
·   food plants and how often they are being replaced
·   water (presence or absence of chlorine or other pollutants)
·   disturbances caused by the breeder (e.g. living in the same
    room)

... and certainly there are more

The best attitude is to keep an open mind, and allow yourself to try out  something
new from time to time. In this spirit the following descriptions may serve as an inspiration
