Ventilator

  • a ceiling fan runs regularely in my phasmid room, in a 15 minutes on-off interval
  • of course, one can also use one or more table or floor fan(s)
  • this drastically improves the air circulation, both within the room itself as well as in the cages
  • often it can be observed that phasmids will start to move and feed as soon as the ventilator turns on. Thus a ventilator can help to stimulate a better growth
  • often phasmid rooms are a bit more humid than normal rooms, thus mould can grow especially on the outer walls in winter time. A ventilator will help to reduce this mould growth, which is good for you and your phasmids

Spring-steel tweezer

  • these very soft tweezers are perfect for picking up phasmid eggs, without crushing them
