Breeding notes
(by Bruno Kneubuehler)
the detailed care sheet with many more photos will follow here later on...
- Ibong Sapa (Catenduanes, Philippines)
- a DNA-comparison will show whether this population from Catenduanes is actually conspecific with the population from the Ph. ericoriai's type locality Marinduque (Philippines)
- incubation about 4 - 6 months, but some nymphs can hatch even (many) months after the first nymphs
- feed well on bramble, Salal and hazelnut
- I have kept the nymphs in a rather airy cage at around 60 - 70% rH
- easy with the Free-Standing-Setup
- older nymphs and adults are better kept at a higher humidity of about 75+ % rH
- spray regularly (2 - 3 times a week) but let water dry up before you spray again
- in my culture, all older female nymphs were yellow. But once they were adult, then they turned green again
- females about 8 -9 cm, males about 6.5 cm
